The University of Alberta takes a decentralized, institute-wide approach to sustainability.

Academic Plan

Dare to Deliver is our 2011-2015 Academic Plan. Our efforts related to sustainability are captured in a companion document entitled, Integrating Sustainability into the Academic Experience.

Sustainability Plan

The 2012-2016 Sustainability Plan collates the many strategic goals, initiatives and practices that will guide the University of Alberta's efforts in environmentally, socially and economically sustainable leadership in the next few years. These efforts are lead by many departments and organizations on campus. In 2014-2015 the campus will be engaged in a variety of activities to inform the 2016-2020 Sustainability Plan.

Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability established in 2009 to serve as the hub for the campus sustainability initiative. The office collaborates with students, faculties and staff to ensure an institute-wide approach to sustainability covering the areas of teaching & research, outreach & engagement, and energy management & operations.

The Office of Sustainability unifies the vision and direction of sustainability initiatives on campus, while encouraging the many individuals, departments and organizations across campus community to grow their own unique approaches to sustainability.
